De-stress on treetop nets with your tribe!

Nets KIngdom Blog
No one likes to feel stressed, but for many people it’s an unavoidable reality of their busy working lives. Saying that, a smidgen of stress isn’t always a bad thing; according to experts, it can actually motivate you to meet your goals for the day.

But then there’s also bad stress, when you constantly feel under pressure and pushed to the very max. And this type of stress is counter-intuitive, as it can make you feel less driven and less enthusiastic about your work. It can even make you unwell, if it carries on for a long time.

So, as tribe leader, you need to help your tribe to achieve that perfect balance in their roles. No doubt they want to be challenged (as this will help them to develop and flourish), but there’s a line between tasks and responsibilities that are challenging, and those that are downright impossible!

Time to unwind!

You know what will help your tribe to secure that golden balance? If you treat them to regular away days, where they can switch off from work and leave their worries behind in a pile on their desk! So, how does de-stressing in a netted playground suspended 30 feet up in the air sound!?

Yep, you read that right! Go Ape is pleased and proud to unveil a brand new, one-of-a-kind adventure soon to be launched in Black Park! Nets Kingdom is a mammoth connected structure of bounce nets (one filled with giant balls), bridges slides and climbing towers and is fun for all ages!

The Kingdom is encased within 3,000 square metres of hammock-like netting, so it’s safe as tree houses. Speaking of which, there are some of them in Net Kingdom, too!

Nets Kingdom is the perfect spot to kick back with your tribe. To unwind, to switch off, to reconnect with nature. And most importantly, to have some fun!

For the ultimate Go Ape day out, why not swing through the trees before hanging out in them? An award-winning Tree Top Adventure course is the perfect team building and team bonding activity. You’ll take on tunnels, bridges, swings, stirrups and zips. Oh, you’ll also have to clamber up and across nets, so you’ll get in some practice before venturing to the Kingdom!

Between your adventures, you could always back with your tribe in our exclusive Forest Shelter and enjoy some tasty grub, prepared by us. Choose from a simple picnic, or a more hearty forest BBQ (which your tribe may appreciate more after swinging through the trees and working up an appetite).

Black Park is the only Go Ape with Nets Kingdom for the moment, but we’re sure that the activity will be launched in other courses in the future. So don’t feel too disappointed if you aren’t near, anyway, there’s bound to be a local course where you and your tribe can swing through the trees or whizz through the forest floor via a bunch of all-terrain, self-balancing Segways!

De-stress your Tribe by booking a team day out to Nets Kingdom …

Criteo corporate event at Battersea

Criteo explores Go Ape Battersea Parkcriteo logo corporate events

Our first urban adventure opened in Battersea Park in December 2015 and it’s still a strong favourite for team days out today. The Criteo Tribe took to the trees recently and shared with us their experience. They were looking for a “fun day out” and we’d like to think we had the answer.

The day itself…

Where – Battersea Park

When – Wednesday, September 14, 2016

What was included – 40 people in the trees followed by a 6pm BBQ in the gardens

Unedited feedback from Criteo

The team and I had a fun time going ape! The staff were friendly and helpful, the complex/courses were great, and we were very lucky with the weather. It was a fantastic experience, we all would love to do it again, and would strongly recommend to all. We had the BBQ package. Set up for this was great – we had an area reserved for us by the BBQ, great relaxed atmosphere, and food was delicious. The only drawback is no toilets within the Go Ape compound.*

*fear not adventurers, there are now multiple toilets inside the Go Ape cabin to use freely.

Criteo gives Go Ape 5 bananas

We asked Criteo what they were hoping to get out of a trip to Go Ape, they told us “a fun day out”. We asked them (out of 10) how well they think we achieved this. They gave us a big fat 10!

We then asked Criteo to provide their honest opinion on every step of their Go Ape adventure. Their banana rating (out of 5) is detailed below:

Booking Process – 5 bananas
Quality Of Safety Brief – 5 bananas
Customer Service – 5 bananas
Value For Money – 5 bananas
Course Experience – 5 bananas
Welcome Upon Arrival – 5 bananas

Pink Parcel chooses to Go Ape

Pink Parcel Corporate Team Day Out

Pink Parcel takes to the trees

Pink Parcel LogoPink Parcel tests out our newest Go Ape adventure at Chessington World of Adventures. That’s our 30th site open in the UK to help teams come together and experience the great outdoors. Nothing brings a tribe together like getting back to nature, flying through the trees and wiping out at the bottom of zip wires.

We hear what Pink Parcel has to say about their team day out.

The day itself…

9th September 2016

  • Arrive at Chessington World of Adventures
  • Enjoy 2-3 hours of Tree Top Adventure
  • Feast on a Forest Picnic
  • A dedicated host to oversee the whole day and capture those monkey moments

Feedback from Pink Parcel

We had a good sandwich, crisps, chocolate, a fruit, a drink. What more could you want? We even had some team members request substitutions of sandwiches and we had no fuss

A day out with your colleagues amongst the trees definitely pushes people outside their comfort zones and thus aids the creation of relationships between team members, ultimately forming long lasting bonds that will last forever.

From monthly treats to monkeys in trees, it’s safe to say the team at Pink Parcel had an epic time getting out of the office.

Why don’t you take a leaf from Pink Parcel’s slogan and make team days out “a monthly thing?”

Case study: Createful’s Big Day Out

Createful Go Ape Team Building Day

As you might be aware, we’re incredibly proud of our corporate team building days here at Go Ape.

We think there’s no better way for a group of workmates to bond, laugh and shake off their worries as they tackle the tightropes, obstacles and zip wires on one of our Tree Top Adventures – in fact, we’ve seen it happen countless times over the years!

Bournemouth-based creative agency Createful was one of the more recent companies to enjoy a well-earned day off work in the trees.

They wrote a brilliant blog piece on the experience – including some fab photos of lots of smiling faces! – so we thought we’d share some of their highlights with you!

Their annual summer team day took place this year at our site in Moors Valley Country Park, Dorset. It seems like they picked the right day for it as the sun was shining (although once you’re in the trees, you needn’t worry too much about the weather!).

After gliding through the forest on a convoy of Segways – they chose the more difficult route through the trees, go team! – with a Go Pro strapped to their creative director’s head, the colleagues stopped for a much-deserved ice-cream break before gearing themselves up for the Tree Top Adventure.

Their Go Pro may have run out of battery by this point, but the gang was still full of adrenaline and ready for their next challenge.

The great thing about our courses is that you can choose the ‘easy route’ or the more difficult route, meaning that each member of the Createful team was able to choose the level that felt right for them. And there’s no shame in choosing the ‘easy route’, it’s still quite a task for most people!

Having worked up a decent appetite in the trees, the Createful tribe enjoyed one final treat from their managing director: a BBQ lunch in one of our forest shelters, complete with a game of giant Jenga (which no BBQ should be without, obviously).

So, what did the tribe learn from having a day away from their screens? As their blog post mentions, they all agreed that they now want to own a Segway! But aside from that, the experience revealed that they are great working as a team.

In fact, client delivery manager Nicole writes: “I honestly think the only reason I got through the whole course was because of everyone’s help and encouragement. We really worked as a team.”

We’re so glad you enjoyed your day with us, Createful – perhaps we’ll see you again next year (or sooner?!).
